Cooling bed types of spiral welded steel pipe production line

Continental Steel, a leading manufacturer of spiral welded steel pipes, introduces the following types of cooling beds used in the production line:

1. Single Chain Cooling Bed

Structure: Typically a climbing structure.

Components: Comprises a forward transport chain and a fixed guide rail, along with a transmission system.

Operation: The steel pipe is placed between the two grabs of the forward transport chain, while the fixed guide rail supports the pipe's weight. The forward transport chain’s thrust and the fixed guide rail’s friction cause the pipe to rotate. The pipe's weight and the lifting angle ensure it remains close to the transport chain claw, facilitating smooth rotation.

 

2. Double Chain Cooling Bed

Structure: Composed of a forward transport chain and a reverse transport chain, each with its own transmission system.

Operation: The steel pipe is placed between the grabs of the forward transport chain, with the reverse chain bearing its weight. The forward chain’s thrust moves the pipe forward, while the reverse chain’s friction induces continuous rotation. The reverse chain’s movement keeps the pipe aligned with the forward chain claws, ensuring smooth rotation and uniform cooling.

 

3. New Chain Cooling Bed

Structure: Combines features of single and double chain cooling beds, divided into uphill and downhill sections.

Uphill Section: Uses a double-chain structure (forward and reverse transport chains) to facilitate continuous rotation and forward movement, enabling the pipe to climb.

Downhill Section: Utilizes a single-chain structure with a forward transport chain and a parallel steel pipe guide rail. The pipe rotates and moves downward due to its own weight.

 

4. Stepping Rack Cooling Bed

Structure: The bed surface consists of two sets of racks: static racks (on a fixed beam) and moving racks (on a moving beam).

Operation: The lifting mechanism raises the moving rack, causing the steel pipe to roll along the tooth profile of the rack. The stepping mechanism then advances the moving rack towards the output direction. The moving rack lowers the pipe into the fixed rack's tooth groove, and the pipe rolls again. The moving rack returns to the initial position, completing the cycle.

 

5. Screw Cooling Bed

Components: Includes a main transmission device, a screw, and a fixed cooling platform.

Structure: The screw comprises a screw core and a screw helix. The fixed cooling platform’s working surface is positioned between the screw core and the helix line, supporting the steel pipe's weight.

Operation: The main transmission device drives the screw to rotate synchronously. The screw helix pushes the steel pipe to roll forward on the fixed cooling platform, allowing it to cool.

These cooling beds are designed to ensure efficient and uniform cooling of spiral welded steel pipes, enhancing the overall quality and performance of the finished product.
