The ASTM A210/ASME SA210 specification covers seamless medium-carbon steel boiler and superheater tubes, including minimum-wall-thickness tubing sizes, boiler flues, safe ends, arch, and stay tubes. The specification outlines the required tensile and hardness properties, but these apply only within certain size limitations. Manufacturing of these tubes must use the "killed" process, and they must be seamless, marked as either hot-finished or cold-finished. The surface condition must be explicitly stated in the order, and the chemical composition must meet specific requirements, with no allowance for unlisted elements.
Several tests must be performed on the specimens, including tension, flattening, flaring, hardness, and either hydrostatic or nondestructive electric testing. Superheater tubes must be free of defects and capable of withstanding processes such as expansion, beading, forging, welding, and bending.
ASTM A210 Overview:
Material: Seamless medium-carbon steel, designed for boiler tubes and superheater applications.
Applications: High, medium, and low-pressure boilers, as well as pressure-related purposes.
Testing Requirements:
Flattening Test: Conducted on one specimen from each end of a finished tube from each lot. For Grade C tubes with an outer diameter of 2.375 inches (60.3 mm) or smaller, tears or breaks at the 12 or 6 o'clock positions are not grounds for rejection.
Flaring Test: One flaring test is required for each end of the finished tube from each lot, excluding the specimen used for the flattening test.

The standard allows the use of both inch-pound and SI units, but these should not be combined as they are not exact equivalents.
Certification and Testing:
Mill test certificates will be issued according to EN10204.3 3.1 or 3.2 standards, and testing shall adhere to ASTM A450/A450M requirements.
Delivery Conditions:
The pipes can be delivered in the following conditions:
Annealed,
Normalized,
Normalized and tempered.
Each crate will be marked with the order number, heat number, dimensions, weight, and bundle details or as requested.

ASTM A210 / A210M Tube Cut Length Tolerance
These permissible variations in length apply to tubes before bending. They apply to cut lengths up to and including 24 ft [7.3 m]. For lengths greater than 24 ft [7.3 m], the above over-tolerances shall be increased by 1⁄8 in. [3 mm] for each 10 ft [3 m] or fraction thereof over 24 ft or 1⁄2 in. [13 mm], whichever is the lesser.
