Requirements for API 5L X52 Seamless Pipes

- Surface Integrity:

The inner and outer surfaces of the steel pipes must be free from cracks, folds, peels, scabs, and scales. Any such defects should be entirely removed. The surface should be smoothly ground, and the depth of the cleared area must not exceed the nominal wall thickness's negative deviation. The actual thickness in the defect removal zone must meet the minimum allowable wall thickness, and welding methods should not be used to repair these defects.

 

- Surface Grinding:

Straight paths on the inner and outer surfaces must be ground down. The depth of clearance must not exceed the nominal wall thickness's negative deviation, ensuring the actual thickness in the defect removal area is not less than the minimum allowable wall thickness.

 

- End Shape:

Both ends of the steel pipe should be cut at right angles, and burrs must be removed.

 

- Weld Joint Interface:

No weld joint interfaces are allowed on the pipeline.

 

Size Tolerances for API 5L X52 Seamless Pipes

- Diameter and Ovality:

Diameter Deviation:±0.01D, with a maximum deviation of±4mm.

Ovality Deviation: 0.02D, with a maximum of 10mm.

 

- Wall Thickness Deviation:

- Straightness Deviation:

Total Length Deviation: The total deviation over the length of the pipe relative to a straight line should be≤0.2% of the pipe's length.

Local Deviation: For each 1000mm segment of the pipe, the deviation from a straight line should be≤4mm.
